Description

Indulge in a rich and creamy avocado chocolate mousse, a healthy yet decadent dessert made with ripe avocados and dark chocolate. Naturally sweetened with maple syrup or honey, this dairy-free and gluten-free treat is packed with nutrients while delivering an irresistible chocolatey flavor.

Ingredients

2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted

1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (or 70% cocoa chocolate)

1/4 cup almond milk (or milk of choice)

1/4 cup maple syrup or honey

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Melt the dark chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl over a double boiler or microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted.
  2. In a blender or food processor, combine the melted chocolate, avocados, almond milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt.
  3. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more maple syrup or honey if desired.
  5. Scoop the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set.
  6. Serve chilled with toppings like berries, coconut flakes, or whipped cream.

Notes

For a nutty flavor, add 1 tbsp of almond or peanut butter.

For an extra chocolatey taste, mix in 1 tbsp of cocoa powder.

A pinch of cinnamon or cayenne pepper can add a warm, spiced twist.

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving for a softer texture.
