Description

These Banana Bread Brownies are a delightful blend of banana bread and brownies, combining the natural sweetness of ripe bananas with the richness of peanut butter and cocoa powder, creating a moist, tender, and indulgent dessert.

Ingredients

2 ripe bananas, mashed

1/2 cup peanut butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup milk (any type)

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1/4 cup cocoa powder

1/4 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. In a separate large bowl, mix together the peanut butter, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Add the mashed bananas to the peanut butter mixture and stir to combine.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk and oil. Stir until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips (if using).
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Let the brownies cool completely before slicing into squares and serving.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute peanut butter with plant-based versions and use non-dairy milk like almond or oat milk. Use dairy-free chocolate chips if desired.

Add chopped nuts like walnuts, almonds, or pecans for a crunchy texture.

For a fruity twist, try mixing in blueberries or strawberries for a burst of flavor.
