Description

These Bang Bang Chicken Skewers are an easy, flavorful, and quick dinner that combines juicy grilled chicken with a creamy, spicy, and slightly sweet sauce. Perfect for busy nights, parties, or a weekend BBQ, these skewers offer a mouthwatering balance of heat and sweetness, making them a crowd-pleasing appetizer or main dish.

Ingredients

1 ½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

8-10 wooden or metal skewers

For the Bang Bang Sauce:

½ cup mayonnaise

¼ cup sweet chili sauce

1 tablespoon Sriracha (adjust to taste)

1 tablespoon honey

1 teaspoon lime juice

1 clove garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Toss the chicken cubes in a bowl with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using) until well coated.
  3. Thread the seasoned chicken onto skewers, spacing them out evenly.
  4. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Lightly grease the grates with oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Grill the skewers for 4-5 minutes per side, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  6. While grilling, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, honey, lime juice, and minced garlic to make the Bang Bang sauce.
  7. Once the chicken is cooked, brush or drizzle the Bang Bang sauce over the skewers and serve with extra sauce on the side for dipping. Optionally, garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds.

Notes

You can adjust the heat level of the sauce by altering the amount of Sriracha and cayenne pepper.

Substitute chicken with shrimp, beef, or tofu if desired.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
