Description

A perfectly moist, tender banana bread bursting with natural banana flavor and a hint of sweetness. This easy-to-make recipe is ideal for breakfast or a snack.

Ingredients

3 ripe bananas, mashed

1/3 cup melted butter

3/4 cup brown sugar

1 large egg, beaten

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon baking soda

Pinch of salt

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas with the melted butter.
  3. Stir in the brown sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir in.
  5. Gradually add the flour and mix just until incorporated; be careful not to overmix to keep the bread tender.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

To make this banana bread extra moist, avoid overmixing the batter.

For add-ins, try chocolate chips, walnuts, or dried fruit like raisins or cranberries.

If using unripe bananas, bake them at 300°F (150°C) for about 15 minutes to ripen them quickly.

For a vegan option, replace the egg with a flax egg (1 tablespoon flaxseed meal + 3 tablespoons water) and use a plant-based butter.

For a gluten-free option, substitute the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend that measures cup-for-cup.
