Description

A refreshingly creamy and zesty Brazilian lime drink blending fresh lime juice with sweetened condensed milk and sparkling soda for a tropical treat.

Ingredients

4 fresh limes

1 cup cold water

1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

1/2 cup ice cubes

1 cup sparkling water or club soda

2-3 tablespoons sugar (optional, adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Wash the limes thoroughly and cut each into 8 wedges, keeping the peel on.
  2. Place the lime wedges, cold water, sweetened condensed milk, and sugar (if using) in a blender.
  3. Blend on high for about 30 seconds, being careful not to over-blend to avoid excessive bitterness.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing gently to extract juice but leaving pulp and seeds behind.
  5. Add ice cubes and sparkling water or club soda to the pitcher and stir gently to combine.
  6. Serve immediately over ice, optionally garnished with lime slices.

Notes

For a sweeter, fruitier twist, use flavored soda instead of sparkling water.

To make dairy-free, substitute sweetened condensed milk with coconut cream or sweetened coconut milk alternative.

Add a pinch of ground ginger or fresh mint leaves for a spicy or herbal variation.

Reduce or skip sugar if you prefer less sweetness.

To make a frozen version, blend with extra ice for a slushy texture.

Best consumed fresh; if storing, keep refrigerated up to 24 hours and add fresh sparkling water before serving.
