Description

A rich and creamy Cajun butter sauce bursting with bold spices, perfect for drizzling over seafood, chicken, or roasted vegetables to add a flavorful Southern kick.

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Once melted, whisk in the Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper until well combined.
  3. Cook the mixture gently for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, to allow the spices to infuse the butter without burning.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Optionally, stir in fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness.
  6. Serve warm over grilled or baked seafood, chicken, vegetables, or use as a dipping sauce.

Notes

This sauce is versatile and can be used on seafood, chicken, vegetables, or as a dip.

For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with vegan margarine or coconut oil.

Adjust cayenne pepper to control the heat level.

To store, keep in an airtight container in the fridge up to 3 days; reheat gently.

For a creamier version, add 1 tablespoon heavy cream at the end.

Try adding a splash of white wine or dried thyme for variation.

A hint of honey can balance the sauce’s heat with subtle sweetness.
