Description
Caramelized pan-fried peaches with cinnamon sugar are a quick and cozy summer dessert made with fresh peaches cooked in a buttery, spiced sugar sauce. Perfect for serving with ice cream, yogurt, or pancakes.
Ingredients
4 fresh ripe peaches, halved and pitted
1 tablespoon unsalted butter (or vegan butter/coconut oil)
2 tablespoons brown sugar (adjust to taste)
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground ginger (optional)
A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Wash the peaches, cut them in half, and remove the pits.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
- Add the brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger (if using), and salt. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and combined.
- Place the peach halves cut-side down in the skillet and cook for 5–7 minutes until golden and caramelized.
- Brush the tops of the peaches with the cinnamon-butter sauce while cooking.
- Flip the peaches gently and cook the other side for 2–3 more minutes.
- Remove from heat and serve warm, drizzling any remaining sauce over the top.
Notes
Use ripe but firm peaches for best results.
Try nectarines or plums as substitutes.
For a vegan option, use coconut oil or vegan butter.
Add vanilla extract or other spices like nutmeg for variation.
Top with nuts, yogurt, or ice cream for extra texture and flavor.
