Perfect for a cozy family dinner, this easy-to-make dish is packed with flavor and ready in under an hour!

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 cup beef broth

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 package Cheddar Bay biscuit mix (about 7.5 oz)

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add onion and garlic, cooking for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in mixed vegetables, Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, salt, pepper, and thyme. Let simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly reduced.
  5. Pour in heavy cream and mix until combined. Remove from heat.
  6. Prepare the biscuit dough as directed on the package, mixing in shredded cheddar and milk.
  7. Transfer beef mixture to a 9x9-inch baking dish and spread evenly.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of biscuit dough over the beef mixture, covering as much as possible.
  9. Drizzle melted butter over the biscuit topping.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuit topping is golden brown and fully cooked.
  11. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

Spicy Variation: Add a pinch of cayenne or red pepper flakes.

Meat Swap: Use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.

Cheese Alternatives: Try Monterey Jack or Pepper Jack for a twist.

Vegetable Variations: Use fresh bell peppers, mushrooms, or green beans.

Dairy-Free Option: Use plant-based butter, dairy-free cheese, and coconut cream instead of heavy cream.
