Ingredients
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes).
- Beat in egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Press dough evenly into prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle rainbow sprinkles on top, if desired.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let bars cool completely before slicing into squares.
