Description

Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups combine the flavors of cinnamon rolls and French toast into a bite-sized treat with a creamy cinnamon-sugar cream cheese filling, rolled in soft white bread, dipped in a spiced egg batter, pan-fried to golden perfection, and coated in cinnamon sugar.

Ingredients

8 slices of soft white bread (crusts removed)

3 tbsp cream cheese (softened)

2 tbsp powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

2 tbsp butter (for frying)

2 eggs

1/4 cup milk

1/2 tsp cinnamon (for egg mixture)

1 tsp vanilla extract (for egg mixture)

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp cinnamon (for coating)

Optional: Icing or maple syrup for drizzle

Instructions

  1. Flatten the Bread: Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice of bread after removing the crusts to make rolling easier.
  2. Make the Filling: Mix softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Assemble the Roll-Ups: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on each bread slice, sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon, then roll tightly.
  4. Dip in Egg Mixture: Whisk eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla in a shallow bowl, then dip each roll-up coating all sides.
  5. Cook: Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat, place roll-ups seam-side down to seal, cook 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Coat in Cinnamon Sugar: Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon, roll warm roll-ups in the mixture.
  7. Serve: Drizzle with icing or maple syrup if desired and enjoy warm.

Notes

Use softer breads like brioche or challah for variation.

Can substitute cream cheese with mascarpone or ricotta mixed with sugar and vanilla.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.

Reheat in toaster oven or regular oven at 350°F for 5-7 minutes to keep crispy.

Freeze cooked roll-ups in a single layer, then store in freezer bag; reheat from frozen in oven.

Assemble roll-ups ahead and refrigerate overnight before cooking for convenience.
