Description

Classic bruschetta is a simple yet flavorful appetizer made with toasted baguette topped with a fresh mixture of tomatoes, basil, garlic, and balsamic vinegar.


Ingredients

1 baguette (sliced)

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 cloves garlic (minced)

4 ripe tomatoes (diced)

¼ cup fresh basil (chopped)

1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar

½ teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brush the baguette slices with olive oil and place them on a baking sheet.
  3. Toast the slices for 5-7 minutes, or until they’re golden and crispy.
  4. In a bowl, mix the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, balsamic vinegar, and black pepper. Stir everything together until well combined.
  5. Spoon the tomato mixture onto the toasted bread slices.
  6. If desired, drizzle with a little extra olive oil for added flavor.
  7. Optional: Add fresh mozzarella or a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese on top for an extra indulgent touch.

For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes to the tomato mixture.

This recipe can be made ahead, but assemble the bruschetta just before serving to maintain the crispiness of the bread.
