½ cup breadcrumbs
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 large egg
¼ cup milk
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
For the Glaze:
½ cup ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, oregano, and smoked paprika. Mix until well incorporated.
- Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it on the prepared baking sheet or in a loaf pan.
- In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and Dijon mustard to create the glaze.
- Spread half of the glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake for 45 minutes, then spread the remaining glaze over the top.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For a juicier meatloaf, consider adding a splash more milk or using ground turkey with a bit of extra moisture.
