Ingredients

2 tbsp unsalted butter

1 tbsp maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Batter: In a medium bowl, whisk together cornbread mix, buttermilk, egg, and melted butter until smooth. Add cheddar cheese for extra savory flavor if desired.
  2. Cook the Waffles: Preheat a mini waffle maker and lightly grease it. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of batter into each section and cook for 3-4 minutes, until golden brown. Repeat with remaining batter.
  3. Make the Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine honey, butter, maple syrup (if using), and a pinch of salt. Heat over low heat until the butter melts and the mixture is smooth.

Notes
