Description

A festive and flavorful main dish, this Cranberry Orange Glazed Turkey Breast features herb-roasted turkey topped with a sweet-tart homemade glaze, making it perfect for holidays or special dinners.

Ingredients

1 (3–4 lb) bone-in, skin-on turkey breast

2 cups fresh cranberries

1 cup orange juice

½ cup honey

2 tablespoons orange zest

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 °F (190 °C).
  2. In a small saucepan, combine cranberries, orange juice, honey, and orange zest. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes until cranberries burst and the sauce thickens. Set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels.
  4. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  5. Loosen the skin on the turkey breast and rub half of the herb mixture underneath the skin. Rub the remaining mixture over the skin and inside the cavity.
  6. Place the seasoned turkey breast skin-side up in a roasting pan.
  7. Roast for about 20 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 °F (74 °C) at the thickest part.
  8. During the last 30 minutes of roasting, baste the turkey with the cranberry orange glaze every 10 minutes.
  9. Once cooked, remove from oven and let rest for 15–20 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

You can substitute honey with maple syrup for a different flavor.

Frozen cranberries can be used without thawing.

Add cayenne or red pepper flakes for a spicier glaze.

Boneless turkey breast can be used; reduce roasting time accordingly.

A splash of balsamic vinegar in the glaze adds depth.
