Description

This Creamy Garlic Chicken recipe features tender, golden-brown chicken breasts simmered in a rich, velvety garlic sauce. Perfect for a quick and flavorful weeknight meal, this dish is a family favorite that pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes, pasta, or steamed vegetables.

Ingredients

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons butter, divided

1 whole garlic bulb (about 8-9 cloves), peeled

1 cup chicken broth

3/4 cup heavy cream

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Slice the chicken breasts in half lengthwise to create thinner cutlets. Season both sides with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Dredge each piece in flour, shaking off the excess.
  2. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Add chicken and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and garlic cloves. Sauté for 2 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  4. Add chicken broth, scraping up browned bits from the skillet. Stir in garlic powder and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low, add heavy cream, and stir. Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over each piece. Simmer for 5 more minutes to thicken the sauce.
  6. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve.

Notes

Add mushrooms for extra heartiness.

Spice it up by adding red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper.

For a low-carb version, skip the flour and pair the chicken with veggies or cauliflower mash.
