Description

A rich, fudgy brownie swirled with creamy natural peanut butter for the perfect balance of chocolatey indulgence and nutty goodness. These swirl bars are easy to make, visually impressive, and ideal for any occasion.

Ingredients

1 cup natural peanut butter (smooth)

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

1/4 cup cocoa powder

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

3 large eggs

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
  2. Melt 1½ cups of the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  3. Stir in the peanut butter, applesauce, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt into the melted chocolate until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and granulated sugar until slightly frothy.
  5. Fold the egg mixture into the chocolate-peanut butter mixture until combined.
  6. Gently stir in the flour, being careful not to overmix.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top evenly.
  8. Melt the remaining 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and drizzle over the batter. Use a knife or skewer to swirl the chocolate into a marbled pattern.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Let the bars cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting out and slicing into 12 squares.

Notes

Add chopped peanuts or chocolate chunks for extra texture.

Use almond butter or swirl in raspberry jam for variation.

Sprinkle sea salt on top after baking for a flavor boost.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days or refrigerate for up to a week.

Freeze individually wrapped bars for up to 2 months.
