Description

These crispy and chewy chocolate chip cookies strike the perfect balance with buttery, golden edges and soft, melty centers—making them a nostalgic, crowd-pleasing treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Scoop the dough into 2-tablespoon-sized balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets with space between each cookie.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers are still soft.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Add chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans for added crunch.

Swap chocolate types for different flavors—dark, milk, or white chocolate all work.

Try browning the butter for a richer, nutty flavor.

Chill the dough for 30 minutes to enhance texture and prevent spreading.

Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top before baking for a gourmet touch.
