Description

This Crockpot Chicken and Gravy recipe is an easy, comforting slow cooker meal featuring tender chicken cooked in a creamy, flavorful gravy, perfect for serving over mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta.


Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)

1 packet ranch dressing mix (optional but adds flavor!)

1 packet gravy mix (chicken or turkey flavor)

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup

1/2 cup chicken broth or water

1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts or thighs into the bottom of the crockpot (preferably thawed for even cooking).
  2. In a bowl, combine ranch dressing mix, gravy mix, cream of chicken soup, and chicken broth or water; stir until smooth.
  3. Pour the gravy mixture evenly over the chicken in the crockpot. Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder if using.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours until the chicken is tender and easy to shred.
  5. Shred the chicken in the crockpot using two forks, mixing it into the gravy.
  6. Serve the chicken and gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables.

Notes

You can add sautéed mushrooms for extra richness.

For a crispy texture, sear chicken before slow cooking.

Fresh or dried thyme or rosemary can be added for an herbal flavor boost.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Reheat gently on stove or microwave; add broth or water if gravy thickens too much.

Frozen chicken can be used but thawed is recommended for even cooking.

To make dairy-free, substitute cream of chicken soup and check ranch and gravy mixes.
