Description

These crispy and tender chicken tenders are coated in a sweet and savory honey butter garlic sauce, made effortlessly in the air fryer for a healthier twist on a classic dish.

Ingredients

1 lb chicken tenders

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1 egg, beaten

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 tablespoons honey

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg.
  4. Place the panko breadcrumbs in another shallow bowl.
  5. Dredge each chicken tender in the flour mixture, then dip it into the beaten egg, and coat it in the panko breadcrumbs.
  6. Arrange the coated chicken tenders in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Lightly spray with cooking spray.
  7. Air fry the chicken tenders at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  8. While the chicken cooks, prepare the honey butter garlic sauce by melting the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the honey, garlic, and lemon juice, and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  9. Once the chicken tenders are cooked, drizzle the honey butter garlic sauce over the tenders and toss gently to coat.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, swap the all-purpose flour and panko breadcrumbs with a gluten-free alternative.

If you prefer a tangy twist, replace the lemon juice with lime juice in the sauce.

Leftover tenders can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheated in the air fryer or oven.
