Description
A rich and comforting one-skillet chicken dish featuring golden seared chicken breasts coated in a silky garlic and herb Boursin cream sauce that’s simple to prepare yet elegant enough for any dinner table.
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tbsp olive oil or butter
4 oz garlic & herb Boursin cheese
1 cup heavy cream or half & half
1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
1 tbsp fresh parsley or chives, chopped
Instructions
- Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium and add the Boursin cheese and heavy cream to the same skillet. Stir continuously until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
- Stir in garlic powder if using, and let the sauce simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over each piece. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until heated through.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley or chives before serving.
Notes
Add sautéed mushrooms or fresh spinach to the sauce for extra flavor and texture.
Substitute cream cheese or goat cheese for Boursin and add extra garlic and herbs if needed.
For dairy-free, use coconut cream and dairy-free cream cheese alternative.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheat gently with a splash of cream or milk to maintain a smooth sauce.
