Description

A classic and comforting dessert featuring sweet, cinnamon-scented peaches topped with a golden, buttery crust. Easy to make with fresh, canned, or frozen peaches, this cobbler is perfect for any season.


Ingredients

4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (or canned peaches, drained)

1 cup granulated sugar, divided

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1 cup milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, toss the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of sugar and the cinnamon, if using. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Stir in the milk until the batter is smooth, then mix in the melted butter until fully combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Without stirring, spoon the peaches and their juices evenly over the batter.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
  8. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

You can use fresh, canned, or thawed frozen peaches.

Brown sugar can be used instead of white for a caramel flavor.

Add vanilla extract or nutmeg for extra depth.

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Reheat in the oven to maintain crisp topping.
