Description
A festive and delicious holiday appetizer featuring cheesy spinach dip wrapped in golden pull-apart breadsticks, shaped like a Christmas tree. Perfect for gatherings and easy to share.
Ingredients
12 oz frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
6 oz cream cheese, softened
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ tsp salt
½ tsp onion powder
¼ tsp chili powder
¼ tsp pepper
1 tsp Italian seasoning
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
1 tube refrigerated pizza crust (~13.8 oz)
Butter Topping:
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp Italian seasoning
½ tsp garlic powder or garlic salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, beat together thawed spinach and softened cream cheese until smooth.
- Stir in garlic, salt, onion powder, chili powder, pepper, Italian seasoning, Parmesan, and mozzarella until fully combined.
- Unroll the pizza crust onto parchment paper and cut out one large triangle and two smaller ones. Use the smaller pieces to form a second full-sized triangle.
- Spread the spinach mixture over one triangle, then top with the second triangle, pressing lightly.
- Using a knife or pizza cutter, slice 1-inch wide strips on both sides of the triangle, leaving the center intact.
- Twist each strip to form tree branches.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- While baking, melt butter and mix with Italian seasoning and garlic powder.
- Brush the seasoned butter over the breadsticks once out of the oven. Serve warm.
Notes
Be sure to squeeze out as much moisture from the spinach as possible to avoid soggy dough.
You can assemble the tree a day in advance and refrigerate until ready to bake.
Try adding red pepper flakes or chopped artichokes for variation.
Serve with marinara or ranch for extra flavor.
For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free pizza dough and ensure other ingredients are GF.
