Description

A creamy, rich French Onion Dip made with caramelized onions, Greek yogurt, and mayonnaise. It's a healthier homemade version, perfect for parties and snacking.


Ingredients

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 1/2 cups plain Greek yogurt

1/2 cup mayonnaise


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced onions, salt, and pepper. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally, for 30 to 35 minutes until caramelized and deep golden brown.
  3. Remove skillet from heat and let onions cool completely.
  4. In a medium bowl, mix Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Stir in the cooled caramelized onions until fully combined.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to develop.
  7. Serve chilled with chips, vegetables, or crackers.

Notes

Sour cream can be used instead of Greek yogurt for a richer texture.

Add smoked paprika or hot sauce for a smoky or spicy twist.

Mix in fresh chives or parsley for color and freshness.

To make it vegan, use plant-based yogurt and mayo alternatives.

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Do not freeze; texture may change and become watery.
