Ingredients
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
2 garlic cloves, minced
4 sandwich buns, toasted
4 lettuce leaves
4 tomato slices
Instructions
- Preheat the grill or a grill pan to medium-high heat.
- Brush the chicken breasts with olive oil, then season with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Grill the chicken for 5–6 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Let rest for 5 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic to create garlic butter.
- Spread the garlic butter on toasted sandwich buns.
- Assemble the sandwich: place a lettuce leaf and tomato slice on the bottom bun, add sliced grilled chicken, and top with the upper bun.
- Serve warm, optionally with fries, a salad, or chips.
Notes
Add crispy bacon for extra crunch.
Mix sriracha or hot sauce into the garlic butter for heat.
Swap chicken for grilled tofu or a plant-based patty for a vegetarian version.
Brioche or ciabatta buns add a richer texture and flavor.
Add cheese like provolone or Swiss for extra comfort.
Store leftover chicken separately in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Reheat chicken in a skillet or microwave before assembling sandwiches fresh.
