Description
Golden Onion Butter Rice is a rich and flavorful side dish made with long-grain rice, beef broth, French onion soup, and butter. It's savory, buttery, and perfect to pair with roasted meats or grilled vegetables.
Ingredients
1 1/4 cup long grain rice, uncooked
14.5 oz can beef broth
10.5 oz can French onion soup
1 stick butter, cold
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Use an 8×8 inch baking dish and spread the uncooked rice evenly at the bottom.
- Pour the beef broth evenly over the rice, followed by the French onion soup for that deep, savory flavor.
- Cut the cold butter into thin slices and place them evenly over the rice and soup mixture.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Afterward, uncover and continue baking for an additional 25 minutes, or until the rice is tender and golden.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can add vegetables like peas, carrots, or bell peppers.
Shredded cheese can be sprinkled on top during the last 10 minutes of baking for a cheesy, golden crust.
Adding cooked chicken or beef cubes before baking boosts the protein content.
Different rice varieties like jasmine or basmati can be used for varied flavors.
