For the Creamy Sauce:
1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup (or cream of cheddar)
½ cup sour cream
½ cup milk
Other Ingredients:
2 cups cooked pasta (elbow macaroni, penne, or rotini)
2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a mix)
½ cup bread crumbs or crushed crackers (for topping, optional)
1 tbsp butter, melted (if using breadcrumbs)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and paprika. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and milk.
- Stir in the cooked pasta, making sure it’s well coated with the creamy sauce.
- Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Layer the casserole: start with half of the beef mixture, then half of the creamy pasta, and half of the shredded cheese. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
