Ingredients
4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 large egg, beaten
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 hamburger buns
Lettuce leaves
Sliced tomato
Sliced pickles
For the Hot Honey Sauce:
1/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon hot sauce (adjust for spice preference)
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Dredge the chicken breasts in flour, dip them in the beaten egg, and coat them in panko breadcrumbs.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken breasts for 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- While the chicken is cooking, prepare the hot honey sauce by combining honey, hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, and cayenne pepper in a small saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring until well combined.
- Toast the buns in the oven or on a skillet until golden.
- Assemble the burgers by placing lettuce and tomato on the bottom half of the buns, followed by the crispy chicken patty. Drizzle with the hot honey sauce and top with pickles.
- Serve the hot honey chicken burgers immediately, with fries or your favorite side.
Notes
Spicy: Increase the amount of hot sauce or cayenne pepper in the hot honey sauce if you prefer a stronger kick.
Cheese: Add a slice of melted cheese, like cheddar or pepper jack, on top of the chicken patty for an extra layer of flavor.
Vegetarian Option: Swap the chicken for a crispy fried cauliflower steak or a veggie patty for a meatless version of this burger.
Bun Alternatives: Use a whole wheat or gluten-free bun for a healthier or gluten-free version of this burger.
Storage: Store any leftover hot honey chicken patties in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Store the hot honey sauce separately.
Reheating: To reheat, warm the chicken patties in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes or until heated through. The buns can be toasted again for that fresh, crispy texture.
