Description

Jalapeño Popper Deviled Eggs are a flavorful twist on the classic deviled egg, featuring creamy filling, sharp cheddar cheese, and tangy pickled jalapeños, making them the perfect spicy appetizer.

Ingredients

6 large eggs

3 tablespoons cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons mayonnaise

1 tablespoon pickled jalapeños, finely chopped (adjust to taste)

2 tablespoons shredded cheddar cheese

1 green onion, finely chopped

Salt and pepper, to taste

Smoked paprika or chili powder (for garnish)

Extra chopped jalapeño or green onion for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil the Eggs: Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with water. Bring to a boil, then cover, remove from heat, and let sit for 10–12 minutes. Afterward, drain and cool the eggs in cold water or an ice bath.
  2. Peel and Halve: Peel the cooled eggs and slice them in half lengthwise. Carefully remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl.
  3. Make the Filling: Mash the yolks with cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth. Stir in the chopped pickled jalapeños, cheddar cheese, green onion, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust the heat level by adding more jalapeños if needed.
  4. Fill the Egg Whites: Spoon or pipe the filling back into the egg white halves, creating a nice mound in each one.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle the eggs with smoked paprika or chili powder for an extra layer of flavor. Top them with chopped jalapeños or green onions for a touch of freshness.
  6. Chill: Refrigerate the deviled eggs until ready to serve. They’re perfect for parties, picnics, or holiday spreads!

Notes

For extra creaminess, add an extra tablespoon of cream cheese or swap the mayonnaise for Greek yogurt.

For more heat, add dashes of hot sauce or diced fresh jalapeños into the filling.

For a bacon twist, sprinkle crispy crumbled bacon on top of the deviled eggs.

Store deviled eggs in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.

Reheat gently in the microwave for 15-20 seconds on low power if needed, but they are best served chilled.
