Description

Lemon Tiramisu is a refreshing, citrusy variation of the traditional Italian dessert, featuring layers of lemon mascarpone cream and ladyfingers, perfect for warm days.


Ingredients

1 package ladyfingers

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup mascarpone cheese

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 tablespoon lemon zest

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup lemon curd (optional for extra flavor)


Instructions

  1. Whisk together heavy cream, mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla extract in a large bowl until smooth and fluffy.
  2. If desired, stir in lemon curd for extra lemon flavor.
  3. Quickly dip ladyfingers into lemon juice and layer them in the bottom of a 9x9-inch dish.
  4. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers in an even layer.
  5. Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best flavor.
  7. Before serving, garnish with extra lemon zest or fresh berries for added flavor and color.

Notes

Make this dessert ahead of time, preferably 4 hours or overnight, for the best flavor and texture.

If you want a tropical twist, you can substitute lime juice for lemon juice, although it will alter the flavor.

Lemon curd is optional, but it intensifies the citrus flavor.

If making dairy-free, use coconut cream, dairy-free mascarpone, and dairy-free ladyfingers or sponge cake.
