Description
A refreshing and naturally sweet mango iced tea made with bold black tea, ripe mango puree, and a splash of fresh lemon juice. Perfectly balanced, fruity, and ideal for warm afternoons.
Ingredients
4 cups water
3 black tea bags
1 1/2 cups ripe mango, peeled and diced
2 tablespoons honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 cup cold water
Ice cubes
Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
Mango slices (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring 4 cups of water to a gentle boil in a medium saucepan.
- Remove from heat, add the tea bags, and steep for about 5 minutes depending on desired strength.
- While the tea steeps, blend the diced mango with 1 cup of cold water until completely smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve if a smoother texture is desired.
- Remove the tea bags and stir in honey or sugar while the tea is still warm until fully dissolved.
- Add the fresh lemon juice and mango puree to the brewed tea and stir well to combine.
- Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour until chilled.
- Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the mango iced tea over the ice.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves and mango slices if desired, and serve chilled.
Notes
Green tea can be substituted for black tea for a lighter flavor.
Add a splash of pineapple juice for a stronger tropical twist.
Replace part of the cold water with sparkling water for a fizzy version.
Add thin slices of fresh ginger while steeping for a subtle spicy note.
Store in an airtight pitcher in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and stir before serving.
