Description

Mini Caprese Skewers are a fresh and elegant Italian appetizer made with juicy tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, fragrant basil, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. They're easy to assemble, require no cooking, and are perfect for parties or light snacking.

Ingredients

1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes

1 package fresh mozzarella balls (ciliegine)

Fresh basil leaves

Balsamic glaze, for drizzling

Salt and pepper to taste

Skewers or toothpicks

Instructions

  1. Rinse and dry the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves thoroughly.
  2. Thread one tomato, one basil leaf, and one mozzarella ball onto each skewer or toothpick.
  3. Repeat the process until all ingredients are used.
  4. Arrange the skewers on a serving platter.
  5. Just before serving, drizzle with balsamic glaze and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  6. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

Assemble skewers up to 4 hours in advance and refrigerate without balsamic glaze.

Drizzle glaze just before serving to maintain a fresh appearance.

Use heirloom cherry tomatoes for extra color and flavor variety.

Try vegan cheese or tofu for a dairy-free version.

Fold in a slice of prosciutto for a meaty variation.
