Description

These Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars are a delightful treat that combines the creamy goodness of peanut butter with rich chocolate chips and a soft, chewy cookie base. The gooey texture and sweet flavor make them irresistible!

Ingredients

¾ cup salted butter (170 g)

½ cup creamy peanut butter (128 g)

2 large eggs

1½ cups packed light brown sugar (318 g)

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour (284 g)

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter and peanut butter together over medium heat in a saucepan, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Whisk in the eggs, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until fully combined.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan and bake for 20-25 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick—if it comes out clean with a few moist crumbs, they’re ready.
  7. Let the bars cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before cutting them into squares.

Notes

For a nutty twist, you can add chopped peanuts or other nuts.

Try adding raisins or dried cranberries for a sweet-tart contrast.

Swap milk chocolate chips for dark or white chocolate chips for variety.

For extra peanut butter flavor, swirl in some additional peanut butter on top before baking.
