Description

These Red, White, and Blue Fruit and Cheese Skewers are a fresh, colorful, no-cook appetizer made with juicy strawberries, sweet blueberries, and creamy mozzarella. Perfect for summer gatherings and patriotic celebrations, they’re light, elegant, and effortless to prepare.

Ingredients

1/2 pound fresh strawberries, hulled

1/2 pound fresh blueberries

8 ounces fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine)

12 tablespoons balsamic glaze (optional)

Fresh mint leaves (optional garnish)

20 small wooden skewers or appetizer picks

Instructions

  1. Rinse the strawberries and blueberries under cold water and gently pat dry with paper towels.
  2. Hull the strawberries and cut larger ones in half to match the size of the mozzarella balls.
  3. Thread one strawberry onto each skewer, followed by a mozzarella ball and a few blueberries. Repeat the pattern if using longer skewers.
  4. Arrange the assembled skewers on a serving platter in neat rows.
  5. Drizzle lightly with balsamic glaze and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
  6. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Use bocconcini or ciliegine mozzarella balls for best size balance.

Dry fruit thoroughly to prevent slipping on skewers.

Cut large strawberries in half for uniform presentation.

Best served the same day for optimal freshness.

Skip balsamic glaze for a kid-friendly version.
