This Sloppy Joe Casserole with Manwich is a hearty, cheesy comfort dish combining classic sloppy joe flavors with tender pasta and melty cheese — perfect for weeknights or feeding a crowd.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef (or plant-based ground)
1 can (15 oz) Manwich Sloppy Joe Sauce
2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Season with salt and pepper.
- Stir in the Manwich sauce and simmer for about 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked macaroni with the sloppy joe mixture and mix well.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Top with cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
You can prepare the casserole in advance and refrigerate before baking.
Swap elbow macaroni with rotini, shells, or penne for variety.
Add vegetables like bell peppers, mushrooms, or peas for extra nutrition.
Try different cheeses like pepper jack or Colby for more flavor.
Use ground turkey, chicken, or plant-based meat as alternatives.
To freeze, assemble without baking, wrap tightly, and freeze up to 2 months.
