Slow Cooker Lipton Onion Potatoes are a simple and flavorful side dish with tender potatoes, savory onion flavor from Lipton Onion Soup mix, and the richness of melted butter. Optional shredded cheddar cheese adds an indulgent twist.
Ingredients
6 large potatoes, thinly sliced
1 packet of Lipton Onion Soup mix
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
1/2 cup chicken broth or water
Salt and pepper to taste
Cooking spray or butter for greasing
Instructions
- Grease the inside of your slow cooker with cooking spray or butter.
- Wash and peel the potatoes if desired, then thinly slice them.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the thinly sliced potatoes with the melted butter, ensuring each slice is well-coated. Sprinkle the Lipton Onion Soup mix over the potatoes and mix well.
- If using cheese, add the shredded cheddar to the potato mixture now and blend it in.
- Layer the seasoned potatoes carefully in the slow cooker, then pour the chicken broth or water over the top.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours. Check for doneness around the 5-hour mark.
- Once the potatoes are tender and fully cooked, taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper.

Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
