Description
Strawberry fruit roll-ups are a healthy, chewy snack made from fresh strawberries, honey (or maple syrup), and lemon juice. They're naturally sweet, oven-baked, and perfect for kids and adults alike.
Ingredients
3 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup for a vegan option)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 175°F (80°C), or the lowest setting possible. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a blender or food processor, combine the strawberries, honey, and lemon juice. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth.
- Pour the puree onto the prepared baking sheet and use a spatula to spread it evenly into a thin 1/8-inch layer.
- Bake for 4 to 6 hours, until the surface is no longer sticky and peels away easily from the parchment.
- Let the fruit leather cool completely. Then cut it into strips and roll them up with parchment or wax paper to prevent sticking.
Notes
Try mixing in other fruits like raspberries, blueberries, or mango for variation.
Add a pinch of cinnamon or vanilla extract for extra flavor.
Strain the puree before baking if you prefer a smoother texture.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or in the fridge for up to two weeks.
Use parchment paper or silicone mat for easy removal—wax paper is not safe for baking.
If using frozen strawberries, thaw and drain them first.
