Description

Juicy, flavorful turkey burgers packed with fresh spinach and creamy feta cheese, perfect for a healthy and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped

1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese

1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Optional: whole wheat buns and your favorite burger toppings

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, chopped spinach, crumbled feta, red onion, garlic, olive oil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until evenly incorporated.
  2. Shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
  3. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and burgers are cooked through.
  5. Serve the burgers on whole wheat buns with your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomato, and tzatziki sauce for an extra Mediterranean twist.

Notes

Variations: Substitute spinach with kale or arugula for a different flavor.

Add more feta or goat cheese for a creamier burger.

Include crushed red pepper flakes or jalapeños for a spicy kick.

Swap ground turkey for ground chicken or lean beef if preferred.

Try different sauces like hummus, pesto, or garlic yogurt sauce.

Store cooked patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat or in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.

Freeze patties for up to 2 months; thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.

Use thawed and drained frozen spinach to avoid soggy burgers.

Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, as an alternative to grilling or pan-frying.

Use goat cheese or mozzarella if feta is unavailable, though feta is recommended for best flavor.
