Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg.
- Add the cold cubed butter and cut it into the dry ingredients using a pastry cutter or fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the white chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and gently mix until a soft dough forms.
- Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and shape it into a round disc about 1 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into 8 wedges and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes until the edges are lightly golden. Allow the scones to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Add chopped pecans or almonds for extra texture.
White chocolate can be replaced with dark or milk chocolate for a different flavor.
Drizzle cooled scones with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for extra sweetness.
Store scones in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
Reheat in the microwave for 10–15 seconds or warm in a 300°F oven for a few minutes.
Baked scones can be frozen for up to 2 months and reheated directly from frozen.
