Description

These 15 Minute Garlic Butter Mushrooms are rich, savory, and bursting with fresh garlic, thyme, and lemon flavor. Tender mushrooms cooked in buttery goodness make the perfect quick side dish for busy weeknights or elegant dinners.

Ingredients

250 g button mushrooms

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 garlic cloves, chopped

1 teaspoon dried thyme

Juice of 1/2 lemon

Salt to taste

Black pepper to taste

Chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Clean the mushrooms thoroughly and pat them dry with paper towels. Leave smaller mushrooms whole and slice larger ones.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the butter.
  3. Once the butter melts and starts bubbling, add the chopped garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the mushrooms to the skillet and increase the heat to high.
  5. Cook the mushrooms for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender and lightly golden.
  6. Season with dried thyme, salt, and black pepper, then stir well.
  7. Pour in the lemon juice and toss the mushrooms to coat evenly.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Cremini or baby bella mushrooms can be used for a deeper earthy flavor.

Add a splash of heavy cream near the end for extra richness.

Sprinkle red pepper flakes with the thyme for a spicy variation.

Top with grated Parmesan cheese before serving for additional savory flavor.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheat in a skillet over medium heat for the best texture and flavor.
