Description

These Churro Rice Krispie Treats are a soft, gooey no-bake dessert with the classic flavors of cinnamon and sugar. They come together quickly and make a perfect treat for parties, snacks, or dessert.

Ingredients

4 tablespoons salted butter

6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

12 ounces mini marshmallows

1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon

¼ cup granulated sugar

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Lightly butter an 8-inch square baking pan and set aside.
  2. Combine the Rice Krispies cereal with 1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon in a large bowl until evenly coated.
  3. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
  4. Add the mini marshmallows and stir until mostly melted, leaving a few small lumps for a gooey texture.
  5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and immediately stir in the cinnamon-coated cereal until evenly coated.
  6. Gently press the mixture into the prepared pan using a buttered spatula or wax paper.
  7. Mix the granulated sugar with the remaining ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon.
  8. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the top.
  9. Allow the treats to cool completely before slicing into 9 squares and serving.

Notes

Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to the melted marshmallows for extra flavor.

Fold in white chocolate chips after the mixture cools slightly for a sweeter variation.

Drizzle with melted white or milk chocolate after cooling for decoration.

Add a pinch of nutmeg for a warmer spice flavor.

Top with crushed cinnamon cereal or mini churro pieces for extra texture.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days with parchment paper between layers.

Freeze individually wrapped bars for up to 6 weeks and thaw at room temperature before serving.
