Description

A cozy, hearty slow cooker dish with tender beef, rich savory gravy, and comforting egg noodles. Perfect for an easy, filling family dinner with minimal effort.

Ingredients

1.5 to 2 pounds stew meat

1 ounce packet au jus mix

1 ounce packet brown gravy mix

1 ounce packet onion soup mix

1 medium onion, diced

1 cup water

1 cup beef broth

12 ounces egg noodles, cooked

Instructions

  1. Add the stew meat to the crockpot.
  2. Sprinkle the onion soup mix, au jus mix, and brown gravy mix over the meat. Add the diced onion.
  3. Pour in the water and beef broth, then stir everything together well.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
  5. Once cooked, stir the beef mixture and gently break up the chunks of beef.
  6. Stir in the cooked egg noodles until well combined.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

Add sliced mushrooms for extra savory flavor.

Stir in heavy cream or sour cream at the end for a creamier texture.

Add peas or carrots near the end for extra vegetables.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheat on the stovetop or microwave with a splash of beef broth if needed.

Freeze the beef mixture without noodles for best texture; add fresh noodles after reheating.
