2 cups packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups red, white, and blue M&M's
1/2 cup patriotic sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or foil and lightly coat with cooking spray.
- Beat the softened butter and brown sugar together until crumbly.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, then mix until smooth.
- Stir in the salt and baking powder.
- Gradually mix in the flour until a thick batter forms.
- Fold in the M&M's and patriotic sprinkles until evenly distributed.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan, smoothing the top if needed.
- Sprinkle a few extra M&M's over the top.
- Bake for 22–25 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the center is just set.
- Cool completely before slicing into bars and serving.
Notes
Swap the patriotic M&M's for seasonal colors to suit any holiday.
Add white chocolate chips for extra sweetness.
Mix in chopped pecans or walnuts for added crunch.
Use almond extract instead of vanilla for a different flavor.
Drizzle melted white chocolate over cooled bars for a decorative finish.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
Warm for 10–15 seconds in the microwave before serving if desired.
