Description

A bright and tangy lime crumble tart with a creamy citrus filling, buttery crust, and golden oat topping. This refreshing yet comforting dessert is perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

1½ cups all-purpose flour

½ cup granulated sugar

½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

1 egg yolk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

¼ teaspoon salt

½ cup fresh lime juice

1 tablespoon lime zest

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1 cup rolled oats

¼ cup light brown sugar

¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine 1¼ cups of the flour, granulated sugar, salt, and cold cubed butter. Mix until the texture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract, mixing until just combined.
  4. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9-inch tart pan.
  5. Bake the crust for 15 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  6. In another bowl, whisk together the lime juice, lime zest, and sweetened condensed milk until smooth.
  7. Pour the lime filling over the pre-baked crust.
  8. In a separate bowl, combine the rolled oats, remaining ¼ cup flour, brown sugar, and melted butter. Mix until crumbly.
  9. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the lime filling.
  10. Return the tart to the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  11. Let the tart cool to room temperature before serving.

Notes

Substitute lemon juice for a milder citrus flavor.

Add shredded coconut to the crumble for a tropical twist.

A pinch of cinnamon in the crumble adds warmth.

Serve with whipped cream or powdered sugar for extra sweetness.

Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days in an airtight container.

Can be frozen for up to 2 months; thaw in the refrigerator before serving.

Best served chilled or at room temperature; reheat gently in a low oven if desired.
