Easy to make with simple ingredients, these cookies offer a delightful combination of maple and warm spices in every bite. Whether you're baking for a special occasion or a cozy treat at home, these irresistible maple cookies will surely be a hit!

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 cup maple syrup

1 egg

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Add maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract to the mixture and mix until well combined.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until the dough comes together.

  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and place them on the baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

  7. Gently flatten each cookie using the back of a spoon or your fingers.

  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.

  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

You can add chopped walnuts or pecans to the dough for extra crunch.

A pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg can be added for a spiced variation.

For a more indulgent treat, drizzle extra maple syrup on the cooled cookies.

Chilling the dough for 15-20 minutes before baking helps reduce spreading.
