Description

A rich and creamy no-bake layered dessert featuring a chocolate cookie crust, cream cheese filling, chocolate pudding, caramel, fudge, pecans, and mini chocolate chips. Perfect for holidays, potlucks, and make-ahead entertaining.

Ingredients

Chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed

Unsalted butter, melted

Cream cheese, softened

Powdered sugar

Vanilla extract

Whipped topping

Instant chocolate pudding mix

Cold milk

Caramel sauce

Chocolate fudge sauce

Chopped pecans

Mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Combine the crushed chocolate sandwich cookies with the melted butter. Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of a baking dish to form the crust.
  2. Beat the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  3. Gently spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the chocolate cookie crust.
  4. Spread a layer of whipped topping evenly over the cream cheese mixture.
  5. Whisk the instant chocolate pudding mix with cold milk until thickened, then spread the pudding evenly over the whipped topping.
  6. Drizzle caramel sauce and chocolate fudge sauce evenly over the pudding layer.
  7. Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the caramel and fudge sauces.
  8. Finish with another layer of whipped topping and sprinkle mini chocolate chips over the top.
  9. Cover the baking dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, until the layers are thoroughly chilled and set.
  10. Slice and serve cold, adding extra caramel or chocolate fudge sauce before serving if desired.

Notes

For extra chocolate flavor, add more mini chocolate chips between the layers or use chocolate whipped topping.

For stronger caramel flavor, add a thin layer of caramel over the cream cheese filling or drizzle extra caramel over individual servings.

Toast the pecans before assembling the dessert for deeper nutty flavor and extra crunch.

Walnuts or almonds can be substituted for the pecans, or the nuts can be omitted if appropriate for your dietary needs.

Homemade stabilized whipped cream can be used in place of prepared whipped topping.

The dessert can be assembled in individual dessert cups or jars instead of a baking dish.

Store covered in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.

For longer storage, wrap well and freeze, then thaw overnight in the refrigerator. The texture of the pudding and whipped layers may change slightly after freezing.
