Description

This strawberry lemon sorbet is a bright, refreshing frozen dessert with the perfect balance of sweet strawberries and tart lemon flavor. Smooth, fruity, and naturally dairy-free, it makes a light treat for warm days or after meals.


Ingredients

2 cups granulated sugar

2 cups water

1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice

1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

2 tablespoons lemon zest


Instructions

  1. Add the sugar, water, lemon juice, sliced strawberries, and lemon zest to a medium saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring often, until the mixture reaches a boil.
  3. Allow the mixture to boil for about 5 minutes.
  4. Remove from the heat and let the mixture cool completely.
  5. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator until fully cold.
  6. Strain the mixture into a freezer-safe container to remove the strawberry pieces and lemon zest.
  7. Freeze until firm, stirring occasionally during the first few hours if desired for a smoother texture.
  8. Scoop and serve chilled.

Notes

Add fresh mint leaves while boiling for a cool herbal flavor.

For a sweeter berry flavor, increase the strawberries slightly and reduce the lemon juice a bit.

Try adding raspberries or blueberries for a mixed berry variation.

Stir in tiny strawberry pieces before freezing for extra texture.
