Description

Tender, flaky air fryer cod seasoned with garlic, paprika, black pepper, and fresh lemon. This quick seafood dinner is flavorful, light, and ready in about 20 minutes.

Ingredients

4 (6-ounce) cod fillets

4 teaspoons olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon ground black pepper

4 teaspoons lemon juice

Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Brush each cod fillet evenly with 1 teaspoon olive oil, lightly coating the surface.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the salt, garlic powder, paprika, and ground black pepper. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over all sides of the cod fillets.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Arrange two cod fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer without overlapping.
  5. Air fry for 5 minutes, then drizzle 1 teaspoon lemon juice over each fillet.
  6. Continue cooking for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the cod flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) at the thickest part.
  7. Remove the cooked fillets and repeat with the remaining two cod fillets.
  8. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges.

Notes

Choose cod fillets of similar thickness for the most even cooking, and check thinner pieces earlier to prevent overcooking.

For frozen cod, thaw completely and pat dry before adding the oil and seasonings.

For extra heat, add cayenne pepper or crushed red pepper flakes to the seasoning mixture.

For smoky flavor, substitute smoked paprika for regular paprika.

Dried parsley, dill, thyme, oregano, or Italian seasoning can be added for extra herb flavor.

For a richer finish, brush cooked cod with melted butter and fresh lemon juice.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for a few minutes, checking frequently to avoid drying out the fish.
