Ingredients
1 1/2 tablespoons salted butter, melted
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
3 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/3 cup confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon milk or heavy cream
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, milk, vanilla, and melted butter until a soft dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and gently flatten it into a rectangle.
- In a separate bowl, melt the butter and stir in the brown sugar and cinnamon until smooth.
- Spread the cinnamon mixture evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly into a cinnamon roll shape.
- Lightly grease a microwave-safe mug and place the rolled dough inside.
- Microwave for about 90 seconds. Add additional 10-second intervals if needed until the center is cooked through.
- While the roll cooks, whisk together the confectioners' sugar and milk or cream until smooth.
- Pour the glaze over the warm cinnamon roll and serve immediately.
Notes
For a chocolate chip version, sprinkle chocolate chips over the filling before rolling.
Add softened cream cheese to the glaze for a richer topping.
