Description

Ingredients

4 cups flour

2 cups sugar

1/2 cup cocoa powder

4 teaspoons baking soda

2 cups mayonnaise

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups water

1 cup cocoa powder (for frosting)

1 cup butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)

5 cups powdered sugar

1/2 cup milk, or more if needed


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and baking soda.
  3. Add the mayonnaise, vanilla extract, and water. Mix until the batter is smooth and fully combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread evenly.
  5. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cake to cool completely.
