Brazilian Coconut Flan with Berry Sauce (Manjar Branco), is one of my favorite chilled desserts when I want something creamy, elegant, and refreshing. I make this traditional Brazilian treat with coconut milk, sweetened condensed milk, and whole milk to create a silky-smooth flan that melts in my mouth. I love pairing it with a homemade berry sauce that adds the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness, making every bite even more delicious.

Brazilian Coconut Flan with Berry Sauce (Manjar Branco)

Ingredients

1 cup coconut milk

½ cup cornstarch

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

4 ½ cups whole milk

2 cups mixed berries (fresh or frozen)

½ cup sugar

½ cup water

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Directions

I whisk together the coconut milk and cornstarch in a large saucepan until completely smooth.

I add the sweetened condensed milk and whole milk, whisking until everything is fully combined.

I cook the mixture over medium-low heat, stirring constantly for about 20 to 30 minutes until it becomes thick and begins pulling away from the bottom of the pan.

I rinse a bundt pan or flan mold with cold water and shake out any excess water.

I pour the thickened mixture into the prepared mold and let it cool to room temperature.

I refrigerate the flan for at least 8 to 12 hours, or overnight, until it is completely set.

To make the berry sauce, I combine the mixed berries, sugar, water, and lemon juice in a saucepan.

I cook the sauce over medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the berries soften and the sauce thickens slightly.

I allow the berry sauce to cool completely before refrigerating it until serving time.

When ready to serve, I gently loosen the edges of the flan if needed and invert it onto a serving platter.

I spoon the chilled berry sauce over the flan or serve it alongside each slice before enjoying.
